تَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَى كِتَابِ مَوَاعِظِ الْإِمَامِ الْجُنَيْدِ قَامَ بِجَمْعِهَا صَالِحُ أَحْمَدَ الشَّامِيُّ بِصَوْتِ إِسْلَامٍ عَادِلٍ

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ مُقَدِّمَةٌ

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Introduction.

الْحَمْدُ للهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَأَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ وَأَتَمُّ التَّسْلِيمِ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ أَجْمَعِينَ وَبَعْدُ

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may the best of blessings and most perfect peace be upon our master Muhammad, the unlettered Prophet, and upon all his family and companions. To proceed:

يُعَدُّ الْإِمَامُ الْجُنَيْدُ وَاحِدًا مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ الْكِبَارِ

Imam al-Junayd is considered one of the great reformers

الَّذِينَ أَخَذُوا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِمْ تَصْحِيحَ الْمَسَارِ فِي مَيْدَانِ السُّلُوكِ وَالتَّصَوُّفِ

who took upon their shoulders the task of correcting the course in the field of spiritual conduct and Sufism.

وَقَدِ اتَّفَقَ الْعُلَمَاءُ عَلَى إِمَامَتِهِ فِي ذَلِكَ

Scholars have agreed upon his leadership in that.

حَتَّى سُمِّيَ شَيْخَ الطَّائِفَةِ أَوْ سَيِّدَ الطَّائِفَةِ

So much so that he was called the Shaykh of the Sect or the Master of the Sect.

قَالَ الْإِمَامُ ابْنُ تَيْمِيَّةَ

Imam Ibn Taymiyyah said,

الْجُنَيْدُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ سَيِّدُ الطَّائِفَةِ

Al-Junayd, may Allah be pleased with him, is the Master of the Sect,

وَأَحْسَنُهُمْ تَعْلِيمًا وَتَأْدِيبًا وَتَقْوِيمًا

and the best of them in teaching, disciplining, and rectifying.
