A New Year

لَمَّا قَعَدْتُ أَكْتُبُ هَذَا الْفَصْلَ

When I sat down to write this chapter

لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي ذِهْنِي شَيْءٌ عَنِ الْمَوْضُوعِ الَّذِي أَكْتُبُ فِيهِ

I had nothing in mind regarding the topic I was writing about

وَلَكِنِّي نَظَرْتُ فِي التَّقْوِيمِ الْمُعَلَّقِ بِالْجِدَارِ

But I looked at the calendar hanging on the wall

فَوَجَدْتُ الْمَوْضُوعَ

And I found the topic

الْمَوْضُوعُ أَوَّلُ الْمُحَرَّمِ

The topic is the first of Muharram

أَفَيَمُرُّ بِكُمْ أَوَّلُ الْمُحَرَّمِ كَمَا يَمُرُّ غَيْرُهُ مِنَ الْأَيَّامِ؟

Does the first of Muharram pass you by as other days pass?
