تَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَى كِتَابِ لِأَنَّكَ اللهُ رِحْلَةٌ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ

Dedication

إِلَى الَّتِي قَالَتْ لِي ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ وَأَنَا فِي السَّابِعَةِ مِنْ عُمْرِي

To the one who said to me one night, while I was seven years old:

هَلْ صَلَّيْتَ الْعِشَاءَ؟

Have you prayed Isha?

فَقُلْتُ لَهَا كَاذِبًا نَعَمْ

So I said to her, lying, 'Yes'

فَنَظَرَتْ إِلَيَّ نَظْرَةَ شَكٍّ وَقَالَتْ

She looked at me with a look of doubt and said:

قُلْ مَا شِئْتَ وَلَكِنَّهُ قَدْ رَآكَ

Say what you wish, but He has seen you

فَأَفْزَعَتْنِي قَدْ رَآكَ هَذَا

This 'He has seen you' terrified me

وَجَعَلَتْنِي أَنْهَضُ لِأُصَلِّيَ

And made me get up to pray
