نَائِبٌ فِي بَرْلَمَانٍ أُورُوبِّيٍّ يَقِفُ أَمَامَ الْحُضُورِ فِي الْقَاعَةِ وَيُخْرِجُ خَاتَمَ

A member of a European parliament stands before the attendees in the hall and takes out an engagement ring,

الْخُطُوبَةِ يَخْطُبُ زَمِيلَتَهُ فِي الْبَرْلَمَانِ وَيُقَبِّلُهَا مِنْ فَمِهَا

proposes to his colleague in the parliament, and kisses her on the mouth.

وَالْحُضُورُ يُصَفِّقُونَ إِنَّهَا الدِّيمُقْرَاطِيَّةُ رَجُلٌ يَتَزَوَّجُ بِرَجُلٍ إِنَّهَا الدِّيمُقْرَاطِيَّةُ

And the attendees applaud; this is democracy, a man marrying a man, this is democracy.

أَمَّا بَعْدُ وَأَحِبَّتِي فِي اللهِ

To proceed, my beloveds in God,

إِنَّ النَّاظِرَ وَالْمُتَأَمِّلَ فِي أَخْبَارِ الْعَالَمِ الْيَوْمَ

indeed, the observer and contemplator of the world's news today

لَيَجِدُ تَسَارُعًا كَبِيرًا وَخَطِيرًا فِي الْأَحْدَاثِ

finds a great and dangerous acceleration in events.

إِنَّ النَّاظِرَ وَالْمُتَأَمِّلَ فِي أَخْبَارِ الْعَالَمِ الْيَوْمَ

Indeed, the observer and contemplator of the world's news today

لَيَجِدُ تَسَارُعًا كَبِيرًا وَخَطِيرًا فِي الْأَحْدَاثِ

finds a great and dangerous acceleration in events.

مِنْ كَثْرَةِ الزَّلَازِلِ

From the frequency of earthquakes,

وَهَذَا مُشَاهَدٌ وَمُلَاحَظٌ فِي الْأَشْهُرِ الْقَلِيلَةِ الْمَاضِيَةِ

and this is witnessed and observed in the past few months,
