أَعِيدُوا أَبْنَاءَنَا لَا نُرِيدُ إِقْحَامَهُمْ فِي مَعْرَكَةٍ خَاسِرَةٍ

Bring our children back, we do not want to involve them in a losing battle.

لَوْ كُنْتُ أَمْلِكُ وَلَدًا لَأَرْسَلْتُهُ، وِلَايَتُنَا فِي خَطَرٍ لَا بُدَّ أَنْ نَبْذُلَ الْغَالِيَ وَالنَّفِيسَ

If I had a son, I would have sent him. Our province is in danger; we must sacrifice the precious and the valuable.

كَلَامٌ مَعْسُولٌ خَلْفَهُ الشَّرُّ وَالْخُنُوعُ

Sweet words behind which lies evil and submissiveness.

مَا هَذَا الشَّيْءُ الَّذِي لَا تَحْتَمِلُ تَأْجِيلَهُ

What is this thing that you cannot stand to postpone?

هُنَاكَ شَخْصٌ رَفَعَ الْأَذَانَ فِي الْوِلَايَةِ

There is someone who raised the Adhan (call to prayer) in the province.

مَاذَا! مَنْ هَذَا الَّذِي يَجْرُؤُ عَلَى رَفْعِ الْأَذَانِ فِي وِلَايَتِي!؟

What! Who is this who dares to raise the Adhan in my province!?

أَحَدُهُمْ يَا سَيِّدِي، قَامَ بِتَنْظِيفِ الْمَسْجِدِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ الْأَذَانَ فِيهِ

One of them, my master, cleaned the mosque and then raised the Adhan in it.

الْأَمْرُ مُخِيفٌ، لَا نُرِيدُ أَنْ تَسْتَيْقِظَ الْأُمَّةُ مِنْ جَدِيدٍ

The matter is frightening; we do not want the nation to wake up again.

أَعْرِفُ ذَلِكَ، لِذَلِكَ جَهَّزْتُ مَجْمُوعَةً مِنَ الْجُنُودِ

I know that, that is why I have prepared a group of soldiers.

سَأَذْهَبُ بِنَفْسِي إِلَى السُّوقِ وَأُنْزِلُ بِهِ أَشَدَّ الْعُقُوبَةِ أَمَامَ مَرْأَى النَّاسِ

I will go myself to the market and inflict upon him the severest punishment before the eyes of the people.
