رِجَالٌ مُسَلَّحُونَ اخْتِيرُوا مِنْ كُلِّ قَبِيلَةٍ مِنْ قَبَائِلِ مَكَّةَ يَتَحَرَّكُونَ فِي هُدُوءٍ

Armed men chosen from every tribe of Mecca were moving quietly

عَبْرَ ظَلَامِ اللَّيْلِ

through the darkness of the night,

مُتَّجِهِينَ مُبَاشَرَةً إِلَى بَيْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

heading directly to the house of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

وَكَانَ سَبَبُ اجْتِمَاعِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَرَادُوا قَتْلَهُ

And the reason for their gathering was that they wanted to kill him.

لَقَدْ وَضَعُوا خُطَّةً مُحْكَمَةً، وَكَانُوا يَنْتَظِرُونَ اللَّحْظَةَ الْأَنْسَبَ

They had made a tight plan, and they were waiting for the most suitable moment.

لَكِنْ، هَلْ نَجَحُوا؟

But, did they succeed?

وَلِفَهْمِ كَيْفَ وَصَلَتِ الْأُمُورُ إِلَى هَذِهِ النُّقْطَةِ لِنَعُدْ خَطْوَةً إِلَى الْوَرَاءِ

And to understand how matters reached this point, let us take a step back.

كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْعَامِ الثَّالِثَ عَشَرَ مِنَ الْبِعْثَةِ

That was in the thirteenth year of the Prophethood.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said

لِأَصْحَابِهِ: "إِنِّي أُرِيتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ دَارَ هِجْرَتِكُمْ"

to his companions: "Indeed, I was shown in a dream the place of your emigration:"
