بِأَبِي جَهْلٍ أَوْ بِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ».

with Abu Jahl or with Umar ibn al-Khattab."

هَذَا الدُّعَاءُ دَعَا بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

This supplication was made by the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي السَّنَةِ الْخَامِسَةِ مِنْ نُبُوَّتِهِ،

That was in the fifth year of his prophethood,

عَلَى الرَّغْمِ مِنْ كُلِّ جُهُودِهِ الدَّؤُوبَةِ،

despite all his tireless efforts,

كَانَ عَدَدُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لَا يَزَالُ قَلِيلًا جِدًّا، نَحْوَ 140.

the number of Muslims was still very small, around 140.

إِيمَانًا وَرُوحًا كَانُوا أَعْظَمَ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ جَمِيعًا.

In faith and spirit, they were greater than all the people of Mecca.

لَكِنَّهُمْ مِنْ حَيْثُ الْعَدَدُ كَانُوا قِلَّةً قَلِيلَةً.

However, in terms of numbers, they were a very small few.

عَلَى مَرِّ التَّارِيخِ كَانَ النَّاسُ يَتَأَثَّرُونَ بِالْآخَرِينَ

Throughout history, people have been influenced by others,

وَخَاصَّةً بِالشَّخْصِيَّاتِ الْمَعْرُوفَةِ،

and especially by prominent figures,
