فَيَتَرَافَعَانِ فِي الْقَضِيَّةِ أَمَامَ الْمَحَاكِمِ فَرُبَّمَا يَأْخُذَانِ نِصْفَ مَا دَفَعَ وَرُبَّمَا لَا يَأْخُذَانِ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا

They litigate the case before the courts; perhaps they will take half of what they paid, and perhaps they will take nothing from it.

وَقَدْ وَقَفْتُ عَلَى قِصَصٍ كَثِيرَةٍ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

I have come across many stories of that.

مَسَاكِينُ واللهِ أَوْ بِالْعَكْسِ

Poor people, by God, or vice versa.

واللهِ لَوْ عَلِمَ الْقَاضِي مَا أَعَدَّ اللهُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَا حَكَمَ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ فِي تَمْرَةٍ

By God, if the judge knew what God has prepared for him on the Day of Resurrection, he would not have judged between two people over a date.

واللهِ الْقُضَاةُ ثَلَاثَةٌ

By God, judges are three.

اثْنَانِ فِي النَّارِ وَوَاحِدٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Two are in the Fire, and one is in Paradise.

وَلَوْ عَلِمَ الْقَاضِي مَا أَعَدَّ اللهُ لَهُ مَا قَضَى بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ فِي تَمْرَةٍ

And if the judge knew what God has prepared for him, he would not have judged between two people over a date.

كَأَنَّمَا ذُبِحَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سِكِّينٍ

As if he were slaughtered without a knife.

وَمَا أَسْعَدَ الْقُضَاةَ الَّذِينَ يَحْكُمُونَ بِأَمْرِ اللهِ

And how happy are the judges who rule by the command of God.

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Peace be upon you, and the mercy of God and His blessings.
